University Fellowships
University Fellowships are prestigious awards available to first-year, full-time students. To be considered for a University Fellowship, apply to the PhD Program by December 1st. Fellowships are nominated by the PhD Program Committee, and students are selected based on academic excellence. The Fellowships provide a stipend of $22,500 plus tuition, student health insurance, and a $1000 travel fund.
Leadership and Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) Fellowship

Tuition Waivers
Tuition Waivers are available to full-time students appointed to an Assistantship or Fellowship. Assistantship recipients must be available to work with a faculty member as a teaching or research assistant for 12 hours (without health insurance) or 15 hours (with health insurance) per week. Tuition waivers are available to cover up to 30 credit hours per academic year.
Institute for Teaching and Mentoring
Institute for Teaching and Mentoring Sponsored by the Southern Regional Education Board, this annual conference is the largest gathering of minority doctoral scholars in the nation.
